A new approach to the solution of the Takagi± Taupin equations for X-ray optics: application to a thermally deformed crystal monochromator

چکیده
A new computational approach to the Takagi±Taupin equations for the analysis of X-ray optics is presented and applied to heat-loaded synchrotron monochromators. The new numerical approach is based on the assumption that the incoming wave is completely incoherent (incoherent point source). The simulation avoids any kind of simpli®cation: it takes into account the thermal deformation of the crystals calculated by the ®nite-element method, the transverse beam direction and the beam spatial distribution. As an application example, the theoretical rocking curves for low-energy low-order and highenergy high-order re ̄ections are compared with results of measurements carried out at the Advanced Photon Source (APS) on a cryogenically cooled double-crystal monochromator. The good agreement shows that the adopted approach succeeds in simulating very closely the actual experimental setup while exhibiting satisfactorily short execution times.

A New High-order Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Model Based on Deformed Linear Models
Amongst possible choices for identifying complicated processes for prediction, simulation, and approximation applications, high-order Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models are fitting tools. Although they can construct models with rather high complexity, they are not as interpretable as first-order TS fuzzy models. In this paper, we first propose to use Deformed Linear Models (DLMs) in consequence pa...
متن کاملCorrosion Inhibition of Sodium Phosphate for Coarse and Near Ultrafined-Grain Mild steel surface
An ultrafine grain surface layer with average crystallite size of 28 nm was produced on annealed mild steel through a wire brushing process. The effects of grain size reduction on the inhibition performance of sodium phosphate were investigated using polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. The crystal grain size of wire brushed surface was analyzed by X-ray d...
متن کاملA Fourier optics approach to the dynamical theory of X-ray diffraction--continuously deformed crystals.
X-ray diffraction in continuously deformed crystals is considered by application of Fourier optics and from the viewpoint of the analogy between X-ray dynamics and the motion of two-level systems in quantum mechanics. Different forms of Takagi's equations are traced back to a common framework and it is shown that they are different ways to represent the same propagation equation. A novel way to...
متن کاملAxisymmetric Vibrations in Micropolar Thermoelastic Cubic Crystal Plate Bordered with Layers or Half Spaces of Inviscid liquid
In present study is concerned with the propagation of axisymmetric vibrations in a homogenous isotropic micropolar thermoelastic cubic crystal plate bordered with layers or half spaces of inviscid liquid subjected to stress free boundary conditions in context of Lord and Shulman (L-S) and Green and Lindsay (G-L) theories of thermoelasticity. The secular equations for symmetric and skew-symmetri...
متن کاملX-ray Diffraction by Time-Dependent Deformed Crystals: Theoretical Model and Numerical Analysis
The objective of this article is to study the behavior of electromagnetic field under X-ray diffraction by time-dependent deformed crystals. Derived system of differential equations looks like the Takagi equations in the case of non-stationary crystals. This is a system of multidimensional first-order hyperbolic equations with complex time-dependent coefficients. Efficient difference schemes ba...
